Summer trainee, HPC User Support
Customer and Account Management and User Support (CAMUS) group support high-performance computing (HPC) users through customer account management and resource management for both the Finnish national system and the European supercomputer LUMI. The group provides tailored system support for LUMI with the collaboration of the LUMI User Support Team.
This role consists of supporting HPC users on LUMI at various stages of their project, including account management, resource management, and technical support. The exact tasks will be based on your experience and interests.

Key competencies we are looking for:
Comfortable with Linux and its command line interface
A keen interest in high-performance computing
interest in supporting HPC users
Fluent in English
B.Sc. or M.Sc. student in e.g. IT, Computing Sciences, HPC-related domain of expertise

Summer Trainee, Service Management
The Computing Environments (COMPEN) group is responsible for the end-user software stack of the national supercomputers Puhti, Mahti, and Roihu. Additionally, the group is involved in several development projects where new features and capabilities are engineered for supercomputers. One major project is the EuroHPC Federation platform project.
The trainee will participate in implementation and support tasks related to the EuroHPC Federation Platform ( https://my-eurohpc.eu/). We are building the platform which, once completed, will federate access to initially 12 supercomputers across as many countries in Europe, with thousands of users.
Customer support is a fixed part of this position. For the gaps between customer tickets, we can offer a range of topics related to either service development or service management, including:

Our summer trainees usually work from May to August, but other dates are also possible. The duration is usually 3–4 months.
Traineeship is paid. The salary depends on the stage of studies but is at least 2100 €/month.
