We are now looking for an energetic and self-motivated DevOps Software Engineer to join a team responsible for the development of CSC's sensitive data management services.


As a DevOps Software Engineer, you develop reliable, secure and scalable products and deployment processes. The main responsibilities include creating automated build and deployment pipelines for containers and VM images, running them in Kubernetes and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters, and configuring logging, monitoring and other observability tools to ensure system reliability and performance. 


The role involves evaluating new technologies, tools or applications from open-source communities, as well as actively participating in the daily operations of the services. A significant part of the work includes contributing to technical documentation and supporting teams within the CSC.  


CSC’s sensitive data management services are developed through international collaborations. The role includes occasional travel and active participation in technical meetings, virtual calls, and collaborative documentation processes. 

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

·       Developing reliable, secure and scalable products and deployment processes

·       Creating automated build and deployment pipelines for containers and VM images

·       Running them in Kubernetes and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters

·       Configuring logging, monitoring and other observability tools to ensure system reliability and performance

·       Evaluating new technologies, tools or applications from open-source communities

·       Actively participating in the daily operations of the services

·       Contributing to technical documentation and supporting teams within the CSC

 

Job requirements

What we expect

 

·       strong, hands-on experience in Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps

·       expertise in Linux and familiarity with deployment and automation tools such as Helm and Flux

·       expertise in authentication and authorization solutions (e.g., OAuth, OIDC, Shibboleth, JWT), as well as networking, storage, and databases


Successful applicants should be able to demonstrate practical skills in working with these tools, resolving configuration and deployment issues, as well as developing applications in Python or Go. 


We are looking for a candidate with a master’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience who enjoys working as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. Close collaboration with CSC staff members, such as product and service owners, is key to understanding needs, setting priorities, and delivering improvements to CSC’s sensitive data management services.
