We are seeking a skilled HPC Developer to join our team that works on cutting-edge climate modeling projects. This role focuses on high-performance computing (HPC) programming, GPU porting, and optimization of climate codes and related scientific applications.

This is a fixed-term project-based position until the end of April 2028. The position is located in Keilaniemi, Espoo.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Develop and maintain HPC software for climate modeling and simulation

• Port existing codes to GPU architectures and optimize for performance

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate computational solutions into research workflows

• Profile and tune applications for scalability on modern supercomputing platforms

• Report, document code and provide technical support for project stakeholders

What we expect?

• Strong programming skills in C/C++, Fortran, and/or Python

• Experience with GPU programming (CUDA, HIP, OpenMP or OpenACC)

• Familiarity with HPC environments, parallel programming (MPI, OpenMP), and performance optimization

• Background in scientific computing

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

In addition we value:

• Knowledge of modern GPU architectures.

• Experience with profiling tools and performance analysis.

• Experience with climate or weather models
