Network Trainee, Kajaani

CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd provides diverse telecommunications services as part of Finland's national research infrastructure. We are seeking a Network Trainee to Kajaani to join our team which is responsible for the routing, switching, configuration, and management of data center networks. This role offers the opportunity to participate in building future data center networks.

Your tasks:

As a Network Trainee, you will work alongside an experienced team and develop your skills in the following areas:

• Physical work in a data center
• Installation and configuration of network devices in a data center environment
• Implementation and management of networks
• Configuration and maintenance of routing and switching
• Firewall openings and management
• Documentation and other related tasks

We expect from you:

• Focus on the field of networking or IT (e.g., IT student)
• Understanding of network protocols
• Experience with networking devices (e.g., routers, switches) is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity and its importance in network management
• Interest in working in a data center environment and performing physical installation of network devices
• Problem-solving and proactive working style
• Good teamwork skills and willingness to learn

Duration of the training period is 5-6 months. The trainee position is located in Kajaani.
